Destiny Bible College is a Christian institution that accepts the Bible as the infallible Word of God. In particular, the school affirms: ARTICLES OF FAITH The Inspiration and Authority of the Scriptures The Trinity: the existence of One God in Three Persons,-Father, Son, & Holy Ghost The Creation of Man in the Image of God Human Depravity Resulting from Man's Fall The Deity of Christ: His Incarnation, Atoning Death and Resurrection Salvation as The Gift of God by Grace through Faith The Church, as the Body of Christ The Second Coming of Jesus Christ and the Consummation of All Things PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION Destiny Bible College is a Bible based institution of learning that affirms the authority of the Scriptures, and believes in the integration of faith, learning, and ministry. The school seeks to promote the practicality of scholarly endeavor and the immediate application of learning experiences for the enrichment of one's personal and professional life. The school's curriculum is designed to enhance each student's understanding and knowledge, to foster lifelong inquiry and learning, to provide them with better capabilities of effectively witnessing the Word of God to the world, and to enhance their service to the religious community at large. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE We endeavor to train Christian men and women who are called to ministry, including those who may not qualify or have the financial means to attend a formal theological seminary. Our program of study has been designed to provide each student with the necessary certificates, degrees and credentials necessary for them to make a more profound impact for God through ministry. ACCREDITATION Destiny Bible College was granted accreditation status in 2005, by Accrediting Commission International. Destiny Bible College has elected A. C. I as its accrediting agency because of our desire to remain free from the control of any Federal, State or private agency controlled by the same, that will not allow complete spiritual freedom in our curriculum and student body. LIFE LEARNING AND EXPERIENCE If you are interested in an Undergraduate Degree Program, there is a possibility that you may be able to shorten your degree time and subsequent costs by virtue of your past personal and professional experience. You can maximize potential credits toward your degree plan because of your life learning and experience. You must submit a Life Learning and Experience Portfolio (LLEP) The processing fee for this is $50 (non-refundable) and will more than likely prove to be worth the cost and effort in the overall scope of degree completion. To apply for an Associates Degree, you should be at least eighteen years of age. To apply for a Bachelors Degree, you should have an Associates Degree. To apply for a Masters Degree, you should have a Bachelors Degree. COURSE DESCRIPTIONS 2001-20012 Certificate in Leadership This is a 1 year (10 months) course of study The student is required to successfully complete 30 hours of study before the certificate is awarded. Developing the Leader Within (6 hrs) This course is designed to help the student develop the attitudes, skills and character traits needed to become the leader God has called him/her to be. Leadership-Servanthood in the Church (6 hrs) This course examines every major passage in the New Testament on the subject of Church Leadership. Gifted to Succeed (6 hrs) This course is designed to assist the student in discovering which ministry or vocation God is expecting them to express themselves through. Five-Fold Ministry Gifts (6 hrs) An examination of the ministry gifts of Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastor and Teachers. Discover how these gifts function together in the church “to prepare God’s people for works of service.” God’s Release of Women (6 hrs) This course is designed to promote the spiritual freedom and equality God has ordained for all believers in the Body of Christ. Associate of Religious Arts Degree in Biblical Studies This is a 2 year (20 months) course of study. The student is expected to successfully complete 60 hours of study before the Associate of Arts degree is awarded. The Origin and Compilation of the Bible (20 hrs) This course gives a thorough overview of how the Bible came to be as we know it today. Church History (20 hrs) This course investigates the main contours of the history of the Church from the early church through medieval times, to the Reformation period. Homiletics I & II (20 hrs) This course is designed to assist the student in gaining a better sense of security, confidence, and boldness in the area of public speaking and standing before an audience. Bachelor of Religious Arts Degree in Biblical Studies This is a 2 year (20 months) course of study. The student is expected to successfully complete 120 hours of study before the Bachelor of Arts degree is awarded. Old and New Testament Theology (40 hrs) This course surveys key Old Testament theology themes and surveys the progress of revelation as deposited in the New Testament. Biblical Hermeneutics (40 hrs) This course introduces students to the proper principles and methods for correctly interpreting Scripture. Christology (40 hrs) This course surveys the doctrinal issues related to the person and role of Christ in the Old and New Testaments. |
